The "Real Steel Shop", where we post FREE classified advertisements for buying and selling resophonic guitars, lap steels, pedal steels, and their related parts, has been reorganized. It is separated into the three distinct catagories of the guitar types. The ads will be deleted 60 days after the submission date. If you desire to have your ad run another 60 days after the intial submission date, simply re-submit, as the deletion time for your ad nears, and we'll be happy to oblige. In late 1999, Mike, Richard Bennett and Jimmy Gaudreau inaugurated the new Auldridge, Bennett and Gaudreau band with a tour of Europe in November/December 1999. The Band's first CD on the Rebel label entitled "This Old Town" was released in the summer of 2000 and is available for purchase on this web site in "Mike's CD Section" from the main menu. A second CD, titled "Blue Lonesome Wind", has been released and is now also available here. This band is planning to carry on the traditions of The Seldom Scene, J.D. Crowe and The New South, and The Tony Rice Unit.... bands long associated with Auldridge, Bennett and Gaudreau.

Mike's new recording project with David Grisman and Bob Brozman called Tone Poems III has been released. This recording focuses on the use of National and Dobro guitars (and a few custom resophonics) from the 1920's to the present. The recording traces the music of the decades and will present in chronological order the vintage and new instruments used during these decades.

RB-1. Dobro Guitar Techniques for the Beginning Player. This 20-minute audio cassette provides basic information on how to get started playing the dobro guitar. Mike has put together this product for beginning players looking for limited, entry-level instruction. Areas covered include tuning, picks and steel bar selection, scale patterns, chord locations, forward and reverse rolls, and playing in different keys. $20.00
BV-1 Basic Techniques Video Course for the Dobro Guitar. This 90-minute video provides a comprehensive course of instruction for the dobro guitar. Topics covered include: Tuning, picks and steelbar selection, picking techniques and bar control, bar and palm blocking, forward and reverse rolls techniques, musical theory for the dobro, chord construction and locations, scale patterns, playing in different keys, minor keys, playing fast tunes with hammer-on, pull-off techniques, sliding harmonics, playing back-up in a band or jam session. $80
